MY GRANDSON - THE TV "STAR"

My grandson plays trombone in the Marching Cougars band at his school. That's him in the center of each of the photos. Spouse and I had planned to attend the football game tonight to see our grandson march, but we didn't make it. Since it was an "away" game, it would have taken about an hour for us to get to the stadium and Spouse didn't get home until after 6pm because he visited his dad who was taken to the hospital today.
We did get to see our grandson though. The band had been asked to make an appearance at a local TV station immediately following the game, which Grandson's school won - way to go Cougars! The station is conveniently located close to the school where the game was played so it didn't take long for the band to get there. We're very fortunate to be able to receive Channel 12 on one of our TVs and we waited anxiously at home for the 11:00pm news to begin.
At the beginning of the show, the news commentator announced the band was in the station and cameras showed the band members as they played a tune. Then, before the Friday night high school football scores were about to be given, the TV anchor man announced the band again and said, "We have cat scratch fever in the house tonight". Grandson was standing behind a couple band members, but we were able to see him just fine. The band sounded very good and played during much of the broadcast. Cameras panned to the band numerous times while Spouse and I watched in typical proud grandparent fashion. It was a thrill to see our grandson on TV. He seems to always have a good time playing in the band and I hope he'll remember this night for a long time. I know we will.
