INSPIRATION DEFICIT

No, this is not about the present economic situation. It's about my lack of desire and/or inspiration to DO anything that remotely resembles being productive. I don't even know where to begin. Wrestling with a nasty flu bug for the past two weeks hasn't helped my disposition at all. At first I took the flu in stride. I know everybody gets sick sometimes and I'm certainly not immune from illness. But after two weeks of trying my best to feel gratitude that this is "just a temporary thing", I've now gone into grumpy mode. I'm tired of all this! If information from others is correct, I still have about a week to go before feeling normal again, whatever normal is. I've forgotten what it feels like to not be coughing and wheezing.
Since I lack energy, I've been doing only the most basic housework and Spouse has been a tremendous help in getting some laundry done and keeping the dishwasher emptied and refilled. Actually I think he initially offered to do laundry because he ran out of underwear, but for whatever reason, he's been very helpful and empathetic since he's had bouts of the flu too.
This is one time I could have been crafting, sewing, or spending quality time in my cabin - with no guilt - if only I'd felt like doing any of those things. It's as if I've lost two whole weeks of my life and have nothing to show for it, except a sore throat and nose, a chapped upper lip, and hoarseness that has robbed me of my voice. My new mantra is, "this too shall pass....". If I say it often enough, perhaps I'll actually start to believe it.
I'm going to get out some crafting books and magazines and start filling my mind with all the wonderful possibilities for sewing and crafting Springtime items. I'm thinking of bunnies and chicks, wooden bowls filled with eggs, and vintage-looking Easter baskets. Maybe I'll finally find some inspiration.

Hope you get feeling better soon! It's hard to get motivated when you're sick. Can't wait to see more on your blog.
