Last night I was choosing next Sunday's songs for our church's contemporary service and realized we'll be celebrating Good Shepherd Sunday. One of the texts for that day is the 23rd Psalm - The Lord is My Shepherd. Our group has only one song that refers to being led by the Good Shepherd. I thought we could use another one, so I wrote new lyrics to an old tune. I wish I could compose music, but I can't, at least it's something I've not attempted. I'm better at writing lyrics - I think. What follows is a paraphrasing of the 23rd Psalm. This can be sung to the tune, "Be Thou My Vision":
YOU ARE MY SHEPHERD

That is one of my most favorite hymn melodies of all time! I might have to borrow your lyrics for my small country church choir to sing sometime! Absolutely comforting! (P.S. my next favorite all time hymn is "Be Still My Soul!")
