MIDNIGHT SPECIAL

Before heading to bed, I always check to see if my feral kitties have come to eat. I leave food for them every night and if they're not here by around midnight, there are other animals that stop by and help themselves to the cat food. It's not my intention to feed raccoons but last night when I looked out the door, there were four baby raccoons competing for food. I know they're wild animals and I should not be feeding them....but tell me, how could anyone not think these babies are cute? They need to eat too but I'm going to find another place to leave food for the cats. I really don't want to encourage raccoons to come to my house. I do love watching them though.

PEEK-A-BOO, I SEE YOU TOO
HOW COULD ANYONE DENY THESE BABIES A LITTLE DRY CAT FOOD?

Move the food way away from the house. Use scraps-anything, but get them away from the house. That is how my Mom started and now they actually trap them live and move them away several miles. They are cute--really, but they carry diseases you don't want your cats to have. They poop on your deck. They claw up your wood. Believe me, they are not people friendly. Don't let anyone-human or animal-get hurt by these little cuties. ★ Linda ★

Adorable! We don't have them here, but I do understand the need to move them further away. Wonderful photo :)

We have them too they are cute and they do eat our wild cats food but I had birds nesting on the front and back porches they climbed up the posts and destroyed the nests and killed the birds..
