THE BREAKFAST CLUB

I just took a photo of Maggie and Mikey enjoying Monday morning breakfast. They come here each evening for supper and stay outside behind the shrubs all night. They are bright eyed, bushy tailed, and ready for breakfast at 5:30 AM each morning. Spouse leaves for work at that time and as soon as he's out the door, I feed my little waifs again. After producing two feral litters and having only one kitten survive, Maggie was finally able to be caught and spayed. It was a long process and not without heartache, but there is some peace of mind now, knowing she'll not ever have more litters.
Mikey is Maggie's surviving kitten. He's about one year old now and bigger than his mama. While Maggie often allows me to pet and hold her, Mikey is still skittish, though I'm able to pet him while he eats because his full attention is on food. It took much longer to trap Mikey than his mama, but my persistance finally paid off and I was able to catch him and have him neutered and vaccinated. That's a good beginning, but I worry about these two kitties all the time. I wish I could bring them inside, but this inn is completely full. I wonder how they'd feel about living in a cabin?
MAMA MAGGIE IS ON THE RIGHT, HER SON MIKEY IS ON THE LEFT
THEY COME HERE FOR BREAKFAST AND SUPPER EVERY DAY
