DRIVEN TO DISTRACTION?

Never drive faster than your guardian angel can fly. ~Author Unknown
Sunday was the first time I saw my grandson behind the wheel. He drove here with his dad to have Granddad check out the car he'll be driving. Apparently all it needed was new spark plugs and wires. Grandson has been attending Driver's Ed classes this summer and will take his driver's test on Friday, his 16th birthday. Where has the time gone? He's surely not old enough to drive yet! He gave permisson for me to post this photo but I didn't notice the look on his dad's face until I downloaded the picture. I wonder what he's thinking.
I'm going to get a little bit mushy here Grandson, but I'm remembering the night your mom and dad brought you home from the hospital. Your Granddad and I were waiting at your home with dinner and your mom allowed us to feed you and tuck you into bed for the very first time. That doesn't seem so terribly long ago. How true it is - "...like the wind, the years go by". Be safe, be happy, and have fun in this new phase of your life.

I turned Granddaughter loose with the camera yesterday. She's spending a couple days here and loves to take photos. We're cat-sitting for a friend and the kitties just love her. I think she may have inherited the "cat lady" gene.

We're amazed to keep finding so many blooms on one sunflower stalk.

She found these pretty little flowers at the side of my house.
I don't know what they are, but they come up every year.

Granddaughter found another pumpkin in the little patch yesterday!

Those are called Resurrection Lilies. They come up in the spring; the plant dies off and then in August, the flowers pop up-they are resurrected! Some folks call them Surprise Lilies. Love them.
Our granddaughter is 15. Here in Iowa, they can get a 'school permit' to drive back and forth to school functions. She has already started driving alone to marching band practices. At least, she isn't out on the highway---yet.
Your grandson looks like he has a great start! Handsome smile! And your granddaughter looks as ornery as ours!
Enjoy her visit!

The pink flower you don't know what its name is called the "Naked Pink Lady". Our neighbor has a few and they make a beautiful bouquet! We just cut some tonight and made a beautiful arrangement with other flowers and brought them inside to enjoy! I didn't see that flower the other day on your blog and I left you a comment about your pumpkins and driving. So I am leaving you another. Carolyn
