SUNFLOWER FIELDS . . . FOREVER

A friend posted a message on Facebook yesterday to let people know the sunflower field in our town was in full bloom. I immediately thought of the field I visited with my grandson when he was about 5 years old. I'd taken pictures of him standing in that field years ago and was anxious to revisit the sunflowers and those sweet memories.
At my urging last night, Spouse drove us to the area where I thought the field was located, but there were no sunflowers in sight. I was disappointed to find soybeans had been planted where the sunflowers had previously bloomed. Well, I guess it was quite a few years ago that Grandson and I had been there, but I was so hoping to find those big yellow blooms.
We kept traveling and found the field to which my friend had referred. It's not as large as the field my grandson and I had enjoyed, but it's beautiful and a sight to behold. It was too dark to take photos last night by the time we arrived at the correct field, so I went back to there today and found about a dozen other people there with cameras who apparently had the same idea I did. Here are some of the photos I took. Click on each photo to enlarge it.

This was the view from the road.
There's something about sunflowers that makes us feel happy. Those two dots that look like eyes are actually bees.
Here's looking at you!
What a beautiful sight. I'm glad I went to see them today.
They were all facing the same direction.

Thanx for sharing!! Clicking on your photos, really does show how beautiful they are, and how great your photos came out!!! I always planted lots of them, when my kids {now ages 25&23}were young, and took many pix of them in the fields, back when we lived in Vt.... Wish I could grow them here in Fl! {The heat seems to be too much!}

WOW how awesome; I didn't even plant one BUT I brought home a large dried head from a neighbor on the outer banks...saving them to use and share next year. What a glorious sunny haven for our bumblebees...I did plant Cone flowers for them...nice photos, Kady:)
