MONDAY MORNING TUCKER UPDATE

DO I HAVE A WET CHIN?
DON'T TELL THE OTHER GUYS I PLAY WITH DOLLS

As much as I want to keep Tucker for myself, he has a great chance at being adopted through a foster program at SICSA (Society for the Improvement of Conditions for Stray Animals - see why it's abbreviated?) I called them this morning and though they'll need to return my call so I can be sure he's been accepted, I think this is the way to go. I've promised Spouse (and myself) to draw some boundary lines when it comes to my cat rescuing efforts. I know it's going to break my heart when Tucker goes home with somebody other than me, but SICSA is very careful to screen anyone who wants to adopt an animal. They will check him for feline leukemia and FIV, give him vaccinations, and make sure he's neutered before being adopted.
I volunteered with SICSA years ago when they first began their program and my daughter was only 6 months old. She's now a grown woman with children of her own, so I have a long history with them. Tucker will be here with me through the week and at the adoption center on Saturdays and Sundays until he's adopted. He's so sweet, I can't imagine it taking long for him to steal someone's heart as he has mine.

That will be a heartbreaker. I know it must get crowded when you take on so many. You have put your heart into this little guy. You will miss him. We will miss your posts about him but we will be happy that he finds a comfy, loving home.
We did bring a cat home from the shelter but it didn't work out. Our 9 little dogs were just not going to make it easy. I ended up bit and scratched by the cat. 2 of our females got into a knock down drag out blood bath. All in all a wonderful weekend. Anyway, she went back to the shelter and they promised to find her a wonderful home. She wasn't hurt during her time here and both of our bitches will heal. These 2 do this on a semi-regular basis. It's sad but the way of their world. We will have to be happy loving Mom's cat-Sammy, and my sister's Sassy.
I always pray for abused, neglected and homeless animals. Tucker doesn't need these criteria but I will surely pray for him to find his new family as quickly as possible.
