PEANUT BUTTER CANDY CUP COOKIES

Here's a new twist on an old favorite. I'm definitely going to make some of these for our Christmas Day gathering. We have some family members who love peanut butter. I've previously used Betty Crocker Peanut Butter Cookie mix. The cookies taste delicious and using the mix is a great time saver. If you bake them in your oven, the cookies are "homemade".
PEANUT BUTTER CANDY CUP COOKIES
1 pouch Betty Crocker® peanut butter cookie mix
Water, oil and egg called for on cookie mix pouch
1 cup candy-coated peanut butter pieces
24 miniature chocolate-covered peanut butter cup candies, unwrapped
Make cookie dough as directed on package. Stir in peanut butter pieces. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets; flatten slightly. Bake at 375°F for 10 to 13 minutes. After removing from oven, immediately top each cookie with 1 peanut butter cup; press lightly into dough. Cool 2 minutes; place cookies on cooling racks. Cool completely.
P.S. I made a batch of these but after stirring in the Reeses Pieces and dropping the dough by spoonsful onto baking sheets, I couldn't imagine how mini Reese Cups would fit onto the baked cookies since they were so full of the peanut butter pieces. So....I made two batches - one with Reeses Pieces, and the other with mini Reese Cups - double the cookies, double the fun eating them.
