BROTHERHOOD

CODY AS A BABY - WHAT A SWEET FACE
CASEY AS A BABY - FULL OF MISCHIEF
CODY PLAYING IN THE BATHTUB. HE KEEPS US LAUGHING.
CASEY HIDES BEHIND THE DRAPES WHERE HE WATCHES BIRDS.

I thought I'd share recent photos of two of my boys - Casey and Cody. These brothers came to me a few years ago as tiny kittens. One Spring afternoon, as my pastor and his family were traveling, they started to enter an expressway and spotted these boys on the entrance ramp. The kittens, frightened and hungry, were huddled together near a lamppost. The family stopped and rescued the kittens, then called me. I took them in, had them vet-checked, and enrolled them in an animal adoption program, with the stipulation they needed to be adopted together. I fostered them during the week and took them to the adoption center on the weekends. After a couple weeks of taking them back and forth, I just couldn't do it any longer. I had to keep these sweet kitties. They'd had such a rough start in life and I wanted them to feel secure and know they were loved. I'll never stop wondering why people abandon animals, especially tiny ones who can't fend for themselves, but these two were given a second chance.

Casey is the more reserved of the two, but loves to be held and petted. He always answers me when I call to him and usually comes running. Cody is one of our resident clowns. He swipes at me as I walk past him (to make sure he's been noticed), then turns his head sweetly and utters a soft "meow" when I start to pet him. He regularly hops upon my back when I'm cleaning litter boxes. He lies there until I'm finished, then hops down and follows me to the next station, then we repeat the process. These two have brought so much joy to my life.

What beautiful kitties!! Cody looks alot like my daughter's kitty named Ollie that she found outside all alone in the bitter cold of winter a few years ago...he was only a about 4 to 6 weeks old. She also has a beautiful maine-coon cat named Bella that someone dumped outside of her home when she was just a wee baby too. Shame on people that do that!!

Cody & Casey are beautiful babies!
Aren't kitties just the best? They surely must feel secure and loved now.
I do like reading about all your babes, and I loved how you said the other day that your little cabin was looking just like your photo at the top of your blog~when it was snowing out.... I sure miss the snow!!!
You inspired me to post about my babies tonight, too! Come and see them, sometime!

What beautiful kitties! They both look so content. I was actually able to sneak in one pat yesterday on our feral Blondie. But he hissed and jumped aside LOL One of these days.

I can't tell you often enough how much I admire your big, generous heart. These 2 boys look so happy, contented and healthy. Someone should be ashamed of their actions. I would love to have cats but our dogs would never stand for it. Someday.......
