PRAYERS NEEDED TODAY

My cousin's daughter, Brooke, needs many prayers and positive thoughts today. Last fall, she and her spouse were standing ourdoors waiting for a table at a restaurant, when Brooke passed out and fell face-forward onto the cement pavement, breaking her jaw in four places. She has had five surgeries and one complication after another, including a massive infection that threatened her life. Her jaws have been wired shut all these months.
Brooke is in reconstructive surgery as I type. Her surgeons are replacing those sections of jaw bone that had been removed due to the massive infection. Please remember Brooke as you go about your day today. She's a loving daughter, wife, mother, and talented elementary school teacher who would like nothing more than to get back to her daily routines of caring for her family and students.
It's very easy to take life for granted and I'm guilty of doing that. I go out when I choose and shop where I please. I sometimes complain about the most trivial things and don't always stop and realize how fortunate I am to have this life, routine as it may seem. Today I'm reminded of how very blessed my life has been and how thankful I am for it. Please keep Brooke in your thoughts and prayers today. Thank you from my grateful heart.
UPDATE: Saturday - Brooke came through the 8-hour surgery well and is now back in her hospital room. She's in a lot of pain, of course, but none of her facial nerves were damaged and she is able to move her mouth/jaws now. They are rubberbanded in order to immobilize them until she's healed a bit, but things are looking up for her. Thank you for your constant prayers and concern. We are so very grateful for all of you.

Ah Kady, I've been down with the flu this week or I'd have read about this sooner. Brooke and her family remain in my prayers. I hope the surgery went very well. Hugs!
