RAINY DAYS AND MONDAYS

THERE'S NEVER A LACK OF CAT HAIR IN THIS HOUSE
BASKETS FILLED WITH MAGAZINES I NEED TO USE OR LOSE
I'D RATHER DECORATE WITH BROOMS & APRONS THAN USE THEM
BOOKS, PATTERNS, AND FABRICS NEED TO BE RE-ORGANIZED
I feel as if I should be busy with Spring cleaning. My house and cabin both need some attention but I'm not yet in the mood to deal with either one. If the things I cleaned and organized would stay that way, I'd not have such a problem, but I know as soon as I dust the furniture, it will need to be done again. Shortly after I vacuum, cat hair will reappear, as if by magic. Laundry is not much better. Just as soon as I've emptied a laundry basket, I will turn around to find another one filled to the brim with clothes to wash. It's a never-ending battle. I suppose this is the life I chose, but I honestly didn't realize I was choosing a lifetime of housework. I plead ignorant!

It's a gloomy rainy day here in the 'Burg and what I want to do is ANYTHING except those things that need to be done. I know nothing will be accomplished if I don't do something, so why don't I just dig in and get busy? If I had an agenda, a goal, or a list of things I wanted to do today, that would be a start, but I haven't made a list and I don't even have a sewing project in mind. Did you ever want to just do nothing? That's where I am today. The flu is almost gone, coughing has decreased, and I'm finally getting some needed sleep at night. Now if only some initiative would drop by and engage me, I'd be just fine. Until then, I'll do what is absolutely necessary to maintain my home. The rest will have to wait. Maybe I need a nap.

I feel the same way... with 3 dogs, the more I sweep and vacume, the more hair appears. and today it is cold and rainy here in Maine. Makes for a very long monday.
Hope Tuesday is brighter.

I have days like that too, and I know what you mean about having fur-kids!!! You nearly have to vacuum every second day to keep it nice, but as any quilter will tell you, who has time for that!!!! Sometimes you just have to ignore it, it won't go anywhere, it'll be patient and will wait till you are ready, the dust/fur that is!!! Try and have a nice day anyways!!

Hey Kady! Yep, I never want to do anything all the time... LOL! I always look up and ask the Lord to give me the umpf to get up a go and he usually does most times.

Make a list breaking each job into ridiculously tiny steps. Tackle one job from the list, any job. Put a line through when you are done. It will feel good, very good.

One of mine might look like this:

Laundry X X / (three loads, two done)

Laundry out X / / (one load hung on line - no dryer by choice)

Laundry In / / /
Put away / / /

Tiny bites!

If you don't get all three loads washed, don't worry it will still be there for you to put a line through tomorrow. :)
