ITTY BITTY KITTY

Yesterday I received a call from a friend who sounded very desperate. She had rescued a tiny kitten from a very busy street but felt she could not take the kitten home. Her apartment is already home to eight cats, some of which don't get along well with each other. I understood her problem, but my home is full of furry felines too. so I could not take in the kitten. She asked if I knew someone who might help and I called upon another animal rescuer friend (whose home is full as well) and asked for her input. I assured her I wasn't asking her to take in the little waif. It was upsetting to think none of us had room for a tiny kitten, but all of us were determined to find a positive solution. I made calls to several animal adoption agencies but my calls were not immediately returned. My friends and I were emailing back and forth all afternoon trying to find a forever home for Daisy, as the vet had named her. He said she was probably 6 weeks old. The friend who saved her from certain death in traffic had generously taken her to the vet for a check-up and a leukemia test (negative, yeah!). Daisy remained at the vet's office until 6:30 last evening, when . . . her forever family went there to claim her. My animal rescuer friend had sent emails to all of her friends and one sweet woman jumped at the chance to be the tiny kitten's human mama. She said she had regretted not claiming another kitten my friend had found some months earlier. She, her spouse, and their children truly wanted a kitten and in fact, the spouse had suggested going to a pet store to look for one that very evening. We all know pet store kittens deserve loving homes too, but Daisy's needs were immediate. Though I played only a small role in helping Daisy find her forever family, I'm so glad I was where I needed to be yesterday. The friend who saved Daisy was exactly where she needed to be, and the other friend was precisely where she was meant to be. Now Daisy is where she is supposed to be - in the arms of a loving family. Don't you just love happy endings?

God Bless you all, Kady. The little kitten is adorable and the family is as lucky to have her as she is to have them.

Such a precious kitty ~ look at those eyes.
Reminds me of our daughters kitty when she was younger.
Bless you Kady for being there to help. There should be more people in the world like you.
