STAYING THE COURSE

WOOD ON THE UPPER RIGHT IS FOR THE KITCHEN FLOOR
GRANDSON HELPED US CARRY GUEST ROOM FLOORING INTO THE HOUSE
FOUND THIS OLD TABLE IN THE CELLAR THIS WILL BE MY VINTAGE CUPBOARD - AFTER ADDING A LITTLE PAINT, SOME OLD APRONS, TINS, AND ROLLING PINS WILL LOOK GREAT IN HERE
THE ONLY SPOT THAT LOOKS LIKE "HOME" - I KEEP CHANGING THIS BECAUSE IT'S ALL THE DECORATING I'M ABLE TO DO RIGHT NOW
(YOU CAN CLICK ON THE PHOTOS TO ENLARGE THEM)

We had another full day of cleaning and painting at the new old house. Granddaughter was with us part of the day and helped me finish the kitchen cupboards. They are now DONE! Some of the shelves had sticky contact paper which, after much pulling and scraping, came up in tiny pieces. I'm definitely not going to use adhesive paper to replace it. I'll use something more manageable instead. Glenn and I painted the master bedroom and walk-in closet today. Tomorrow we'll tackle the guest bedroom and later this week we'll begin to put down some new flooring in the guest room and hallway. I may paint the sewing room too. I'm not very good at painting, as I learned today, but I'd like to soon have that room ready for furniture and crafting supplies and Glenn has all he can handle right now. The kitchen flooring has been ordered but won't come until the 15th. I thought I was a fairly patient person until we began this whole process. If I had a magic wand, I'd wave it and be done with all of this. We're already making memories in this house though, and that's great. Our daughter and grandson, both of whom are allergic to cats, can now visit us anytime. They stopped by today after having visited Ohio Northern University and Grandson told us all about the colleges he's seen so far. He'll graduate from high school next year and is excited about the prospect of choosing a college. His mom is happy for him, but not quite as excited. As she expressed in a sweet note to me today, it seems like yesterday he was getting on the school bus for the very first time. I know just how she feels.
