SWEET SHEEP
HANDSTITCHED SAMPLER
HANDSTITCHED SAMPLER
Today I was blessed with a visit from two very good friends, Chris and John, who used to live in my neighborhood and for whom I cat-sit when they're out of town. They've been so supportive of Glenn and me during this move. They stopped by for a visit while I was at the farm. They must have known I was in need of a break. As my friends and I were walking to the corn field behind the house, we spotted a large package leaning up against the back door. I looked at the return address and saw a familiar name - Linda Parker of Parker's Paradise:
Linda sent me some wonderful gifts that I will definitely use in my new old house. Linda, had no way of knowing this, but the sheep picture is the exact thing I need to hang over one of the windows in my sewing room. Besides looking charming there, it will cover a little booboo on the wall. I was trying to hang a blue country star over the window and became too free with my hammer and instead of hitting the nail, I made a big dent in my wall. Thank you for coming to the rescue! I haven't yet chosen a spot for the sampler but it's in the family room right now and looks great in there. Thank you so very much for your kind spirit and thoughtfulness. I treasure all of you who read the blog and I thank you for being so supportive during this move. The movers will be here at 8am on Wednesday and I think we're ready for them. I'll just say I'm as ready as I'm going to be. This is our last night sleeping in the house that has been our home for 32 years. I think I'm ready for a new adventure.
