SNOW DAY!

It's such a beautiful snowy day here in southwest Ohio. The sun is shining and the snow is glistening. I love the way the cabin looks when it's snow-covered and I love all the white lights my spouse strung around the top of the cabin. You can even see icicles hanging off the roof. Do you like my cow-spotted propane tank? The tank was so plain and since I really like Holstein cows....well, I had this idea and my spouse did the painting.
Today our neighborhood looks like the front of a Christmas card. Area schools are closed and all activities are cancelled. What a good time to stay snuggled inside and put a big pot of soup or chili on the stove. That's exactly what I'm doing today. I have chili cooking and the house smells so good. I called and checked on my mom last night, heard from my cousin today, talked with my sister, and my daughter called to check on her dad and me. Wasn't that sweet? I feel confident all are well and staying warm, as are we.
On cold snowy days like this, I always think about my daughter's childhood. She dearly loved snow. When she was very young, she used to say, "I wanna go flay in da no" (play in the snow). When she was older and in school, she'd ask me to wake her up in the morning if she had a snow day. She wanted to go back to sleep knowing she didn't have to go to school. On snow days, we'd often make snow angels in the backyard, then come inside and make hot chocolate to get warm. I can remember some snow days when we sat on the couch covered with quilts, watching movies all afternnoon. I miss those days, but it warms my heart to know my daughter continues some of those "traditions" with her kids. Happy snow day!

I love the way your cabin looks in the snow too! I really like that star you have above its door! It's definitely a day for chili. Today I made hot chocolate for my stepson (he had no school) and we watched some cartoons. It was a great day!

Hi Shelley! My friend Deanna gave me that star just for the cabin. I love that you made hot chocolate today and watched cartoons with your stepson. Those are things he will remember for a long time. Stay warm!....Kady
