CAT WHISPERER'S APPRENTICE

When Granddaughter is here, we always manage to fill our days with adventure. We're tending a friend's kitties this week so we made them some catnip toys.
Putting together this little chest was one of our projects. Granddaughter needed a place to put her clothes and I had this unopened drawer kit. I've had it for quite awhile and always knew it would come in very handy one day. She loves it.
After sewing and wrangling cats, we packed a picnic lunch and headed to Germantown. What's a picnic without "fluffer nutter" sandwiches?
The Old Mill picnic area was close to a stream and the setting was beautiful and serene. We couldn't have asked for better weather. Look at those clouds!
Grandaughter did some exploring and found a bridge which led to five separate walking trails. The stone steps were embedded with fossils. On the way up the wooden stairs we discovered this little hideaway. We think an animal constructed it since we've seen similar things in the woods near my home.
We stopped to admire the wildflowers today.
We found beautiful little daisies growing along the foot trail.
I don't know what flowers these were, but they were pretty.
This is the wooden stairway leading to the forest trails.
Granddaughter and Mandy, the dog, heading back down the stairs.
We were all tired and ready to go home after our adventure.
