LIFE IS A ROLLER COASTER RIDE

BROOKE - MY COUSIN'S SWEET DAUGHTER - STORY TO FOLLOW
I MISS MY LITTLE VAMPIRE KITTEN
A TINY BIT OF HOLIDAY DECORATING
I've had some time to get used to Tucker not being here and begging to be held when I get up in the morning. I miss the little guy and wish his new family would let me know how he's doing. Maybe people who adopt kittens like Tucker don't realize how the furry babies steal the hearts of their foster mamas. I worried about him, hovered over him, was up with him round the clock for his first 48 hours here, and held him every chance I had so he would know how much he was loved. Since he didn't have his kitty mama, I was the only one he knew for all the weeks he was here. If Tucker's new family is reading this, please drop us a line to let us know how he's doing. We're anxious to hear from you. Tucker stole the hearts of people all over the country and as one Australian follower put it, "I hope they know how much he is loved and that he has broken hearts around the world."
Well, I don't know about you, but I've done about as much holiday decorating as I intend to do this season. I have a tree up and decorated. I've set out my lighted houses and have pulled out the Christmas tablecloths and table runners - but my heart isn't in doing more. There has been so much going on this season that I'm having trouble adjusting to all the ups and downs - losing the house we were trying to purchase, finding, then letting go of Tucker, and most important, the situation of a dear family member.
My family member is today facing a fifth surgery as a result of a fall she had four months ago. Her name is Brooke. She's my cousin's daughter - the cousin, Jeanette, with whom I re-connected about ten years ago, after having not seen her since we were kids. My cousin and I feel so close to each other and though I've asked for prayers for her daughter through the crafting forums I frequent, I hadn't told her story here. In a nutshell, Brooke was on vacation with her hubby and as they were standing in line at a restaurant, Brooke fainted and fell face-down on the cement sidewalk. Her jaw bone was broken in four places and infection set in.
To date, Brooke has had four surgeries (today's being the fifth) and had portions of her jaw bone removed during the fourth one, due to massive infection. She has been on my mind and in my heart and prayers for all these months. People often say, "When it rains, it pours", and that is bearing true for Brooke, to put it mildly. She needs a miracle. If you are a praying person, please send up some petitions for dear Brooke. She has two little girls who need their mommy. Jeanette is with her and has been lovingly caring for Brooke, the girls, and their home. My cousin could certainly use some prayers as well. Thank you from the bootom of my heart.

I knew you would miss the little stinker. I do, too. I hope they do read and let you know how he is!
Your cousin is beautiful. I will put her on my prayer list. Those little girls need their Mommy to be 100%!

Dear Kady,
I will send up several prayers for Brooke throughout the day ... for God's healing and for comfort, endurance, and patience for Brooke and her family. She is a beautiful woman I see from her picture. I hope you also take somet time for yourself to adjust to Tucker's absence. I don't know why these things happen but I do know that when God is invited in to help, things seem to work themselves out for the better. You, Brooke and Tucker will be on the top of my prayer list today!
Hugs, Laurie

I will certainly put Brooke in my prayers today..also I am heartbroken about Tucker..he was such a sweetie and I hope his new home loves him more then you did..I just thought of something..when you take your kittys to be adopted, write a letter that will go with them to their new home to see and know about their little guy and how he/she came to be with you..;) I would love to get something like that if I adopted a kitty again..it would mean the world to me.;)

Kady I am sorry to hear about Brooke, I hope that this latest surgery will be successful, what an awful time of year for all this to happen. I have been thinking about little Tucker too, I think we all have heavy hearts right now, and decorating for Christmas is the last thing you want to be doing. I hope Tucker's new family will let you know how he is going. I love the idea of a little note to the adoptive family, sharing the circumstances that brought them to being adopted in the first place is a great idea. Prayers to both the little guy and for Brooke.....Merilyn...Australia

I will certainly pray for your cousin. My heavens what an awful thing to have happen. Would that be called a freak accident? Well wishes for Brooke.

Consider it done. Please know that I have followed this since you first posted about it on the craft forum and I have been praying all along. I just want to say that my prayers will never weaken and I do believe that God is bigger than even this and he is in the miracle business. Keep the faith and tell Brooke and her mom that there are many folks praying on her behalf.
