THE ICE MAN COMETH

SPOUSE CLAIMED THE PILLOWCASE WITH MOOSE ON IT
I SEWED A BIG PATCH POCKET ONTO THIS APRON - DO YOU SEE IT?

I don't know how cold it is where you are, but it's freezing here in Southwest Ohio. I've been hearing honking geese all day. Maybe they're flying south. I thought they would have done that already but what do I know? It's too cold to go out to the cabin, too cold to get out and take down the Christmas lights, and too cold to think about going shopping. I just want to stay tucked inside the house with my heated flannel blanket and hot cocoa.
The week before Christmas I was also cold, but felt happy because we had snow on the ground. Having snowy days makes me want to sew and create. I've posted some photos of my latest renderings - flannel pillowcases and a patchwork apron. Maybe looking at the sunflowers on the apron will help me feel warmer. Don't get me wrong....I LOVE winter time and snow. I even enjoy being outside in it. It's just that today is one of those bleak January days. Christmas is done for another year and all the snow melted with the rain last week. Bleak, bleak, bleak.
I think I need to cheer up here and make more pillowcases or start on my January ornaments. My goal of making at least one dozen ornaments every month worked so well last year, I think I'll make that a New Year's goal. I don't DO resolutions anymore. When I make them, I set myself up for failure. So now I simply STRIVE to do better, be a better person, and make healthier choices for myself. Those are my New Year's intentions - what are yours?
P.S. Wonder of wonders! Just a few minutes after I posted this, I looked outside to discover glorious big white flakes coming down and covering the ground. It's SNOWING! I'm already starting to feel more energetic. I don't know why snow makes me so happy. It just does.
