I had a very frustrating experience at the post office yesterday afternoon and came home thinking I needed to vent about how inefficent the postal service can be. I searched for some photos of my town's post office and found almost every other historic building in Miamisburg, except that one. As I browsed the old and new photos, I was reminded of how blessed I am to live in this quaint little burg and how much I love it. After viewing the jubilant celebrations in Egypt, I also realized how much I take life and freedom for granted. I live in a great little town - hometown of the McGuire Sisters who were popular in the 40's and 50's. I can't imagine living anywhere else.

I love the pictures! That is what we are doing when we do our 'day'cations in better weather. We are traveling around in our state, checking the historical sights in all these small towns. I have taken literally thousands of photos of all these towns-large and small. The one we live in was an Indian trading post in its infancy. We live on the bend in the river--a wide spot. There are some awesome pictures in the history books. In 1834, Rome was officially settled by the white man.
I am so relieved for those poor people in Egypt. They have a rough road ahead but they will have a better life, I'm sure.

We do take our freedoms and democracy for granted. I'm glad the tide has finally turned in favour of the people of Eygpt, I wish them the best.
Thankyou for sharing your beautiful historic photos, I love to see the changes in streetscapes, better still I love to see that some old buildings are still standing and have been restored/maintained. All this adds to the wonderful character of the places we call home!!!
