QUICK-DRAW ELLIOT

The three kitty brothers - Rusty, Elliot, and Bailey - seem to be getting along fine. I still have them in a room to themselves because I don't want to overwhelm Rusty with all the other kitties he's yet to meet, but he was introduced to Blooper and Cody yeterday. After I returned home from my dental appointment, I went in to check on the boys. Cody pushed his way into the room through the open door and Blooper followed. I let them explore the room and get acquainted with Rusty, who hissed twice, then seemed ok with the visitors.

It's strange to think Rusty was born in this house, lay in my arms every day, and played in the kitten nursery morning and night, yet seems to not have an ounce of recall about being here. I'm still hoping something I say or do will trigger some vague memory that will allow him to feel more at home. He seems to be settling in though. He's very affectionate and allows me to hold him now. I was stunned when he didn't try to bolt as I cradled him in my arms yesterday. I had wanted to do that since I first laid eyes on him Sunday. Maybe that's the action that will eventually trigger a familiar feeling. I can only hope.
