KITCHEN PROGRESS

We're making progress in our kitchen "make-over". We chose to paint cabinets doors instead of replacing whole cabinet units and we gave the kitchen walls a brand new coat of paint in a warm taupe-like color. Since neutrals seem to be what some home buyers look for these days, that's what we hope to present. Spouse worked hard over the weekend and I'm sure he's dragging today. He spent a good bit of time in the garage painting the doors and re-hung them last night. He still has a shelf and trim to paint, but it feels as if we're in the home stretch, at least as far as the kitchen goes. One good thing (I guess) about having all the doors off the cabinets is that I could see all the "stuff" inside them. I have to admit it was a bit overwhelming. Since Daughter was holding a garage sale over the weekend, I asked if I might add some items to hers so that was great incentive to purge the cabinets of those things we no longer use or need. Spouse and I delivered all the garage sale leftovers to our church for their rummage sale to be held in two weeks. It seemed like a win/win situation to us. Once the kitchen is done, we'll move on to the master bathroom to spruce things up in there. Our house hunting hasn't been very productive but we're determined to keep working until we do find a home and place this one on the market.

Wow...the kitchen looks great. I think the redo will definitely appeal to home buyers these days - good luck in the house hunting - we were so lucky to have had our dream place fall in our laps a month ago and we can't wait to move in!
