FIRST TIME COOKING IN THE NEW OLD HOUSESTARTING TO FEEL A BIT LIKE HOME

Could we have chosen a hotter time to move? The heat here in southwest Ohio is making all outdoor activity uncomfortable, but many other people are sweltering along with us. We're making progress though. The garage, which was packed full, is nearly empty now and we've moved dozens of boxes and plastic totes. During our daily treks to the house to unload possessions, we take breaks and keep cool water handy. Thank goodness we have central air and ceiling fans througout the house. We're very thankful for those things. This job would be difficult even in cool weather but the extreme heat quickly depletes our energy. In our minds, we're still young enough to think this shouldn't bother us. In reality, we're much older than when we last relocated and we move a little slower now. Regardless, we continue to see bits and pieces of our lives, some of which had been packed for nearly a year, come together at the new old house. It's beginning to feel more like home.

Great progress Kady! Your first sleep and your first meal in the new old house are quite significant! Waking up on your first morning too, with all the different noises overnight and in the morning too is nice, then you feel as if you are really there to stay!!!
