WHEN A DOOR CLOSES . . . A WINDOW OPENS

YOU CAN CLICK ON EACH PHOTO TO ENLARGE IT

I've always been taught when a door closes in my life, God opens a window. I'm not sure my window has been opened just yet, but it's possible. Spouse and I want to move and we've been searching for a house for quite awhile. We thought we'd found the perfect place for us last fall, but the seller backed out and we had to re-group and begin again. The seller has recently contacted us, after being silent for all these months, and now says there might be a way we can still buy the house, if we're willing to "wait awhile", but how long is "awhile"? We've waited 9 months already and the plans the seller has offered will definitely not work for us financially. We've finally moved on from thinking we'll ever have that house. Spouse was able to let go of that notion long before I was. I loved the location, the barn, the neighbors, and the horses grazing just over the fence in the backyard, but I truly didn't love the house so much. It was mostly the picturesque setting I wanted. Isn't it odd how sometimes what we think we want is not always what we need? While searching for "brick ranch, 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, and a barn", we came across a listing for a majestic old house, built in 1919. It has been updated to include all the modern conveniences. We drove past it and realized we had seen it many times before and Spouse had ridden by it on his bike. It sits on a little over an acre of land and has a beautiful big red barn. It happens to be a two-story, which I swore I didn't want. The master bedroom is on the first floor though, along with a family room, the updated kitchen, dining room, livingroom, an all-seasons room, and possibly another bedroom. We haven't toured the house yet, but hope to this week. Some good friends of ours who know the owner tell us the house has been lovingly cared for and the updates were well done. This might be the window of opportunity for which we've been hoping and praying. We're open to the possibility.

Wow! That is an awesome looking house. I really didn't want a 2 story house either but maybe, you can just use the downstairs. Sounds like it's roomy enough. And what an awesome barn for the 4 legged friends!
I'm hoping you find this to be your open window! Big hugs!
