GROWING PAINS

The kittens have reached another milestone. The boys are being neutered today. It's the right and necessary thing to do but I keep thinking about how tiny they were just a few months ago. I want them to grow and thrive but my heart hurts just a little to know today's events will forever change their lives - for the better I hope.
Kittens grow quickly and these boys - Bailey, Elliot, and Ziggy - are becoming loving lap cats. Yesterday I was sitting on the couch when Bailey jumped into my lap and rolled over for a tummy rub. Just as he fell asleep, Elliot jumped up and stretched out on my lap. He played and acted cute and finally fell asleep too. Then came Zizgy, wondering if there was room for one more. I told him we'd make room as I scooted Elliot over to accomodate his brother. That felt like Heaven to me - a lap full of cats and an afternoon to spend loving them.
Post Script: I'm happy to report the boys came through their surgeries with flying colors and are now resting comfortably in their room. The only glitch was that Kelly didn't seem to recognize them when they retuned home since they didn't smell the same as she remembered. She hissed at them and they seemed bewildered. Maybe tomorrow things will be back to normal, whatever that is.

I love that picture of Kelly and her babies. My goodness, the boys are sure growing up fast. I'm so glad to hear they are resting and recovering well from their surgeries.
