Dixie has perked up and is more active, though not completely healed from the spay and bullet removal. She meets me at the door when I enter her little room and meows until I fill her plate with food. I give her vitamins every day, which seem to be speeding the healing process. She's being treated for some lingering health problems so I haven't been trying to pick her up, but I can't wait to hold her and love her the way a kitty deserves to be loved. It will take some time for her to trust me completely after living outside on her own for so long, but I know we're going to be good friends.
