WHAT A CROCK

This afternoon I had an allergist appointment and learned I need to be on medication for another four days. That's fine as long as this wheezing and shortness of breath subside. The doctor re-adjusted some dosages, discontinued two medications, revised my "asthma crisis plan", and said I'd done all the correct things (medication-wise) to prevent an Emergency Room visit. Those were all good, but tonight I'm still wheezing and coughing. I'll simply have to be more patient.
On the way home from the doctor's office, I stopped to wander through a couple thrift stores. I had been mostly home-bound the past ten days so I welcomed the chance to be out and about, but underestimated how much energy it would take to navigate the store aisles. It takes a lot of energy to breathe right now.
My efforts were rewarded when I spied a large interesting looking pottery crock in the Goodwill store. The only marks on it were a colbalt blue crown with a number "3" inside it and the letters, "USA", in the same blue color under the number. The price tag read $24.95. I picked up the heavy crock and looked it over but found no other identifying marks.
Initially, I left the crock on the shelf as I walked around the store. The price was higher than I wished it to be, but it WAS a big crock, and it DID have that blue crown. It didn't take long for me to decide I should go back to see if the crock was where I'd left it. It was. I put it in my cart and headed for the checkout. As I stood in line, two people approached me about the crock, telling me it truly was old and the crown was indeed a valid pottery maker's mark. I don't know much about pottery, but I know what I like, and I liked that crock. I have a few small pieces of Roseville pottery, but this is huge in comparison to those.
Tonight I did a little research and learned my crock is a piece of Ransbottom Brothers pottery and apparently $24.95 was a very good price. The number "3" inside the crown refers to the crock's three-gallon capacity. That's all I know about it right now but that's enough for me. All I need to do is figure out where I'm going to use it. Decisions, decisions.

What an amazing find!!! It's a great object and no doubt you will find the right use for it, you may have to live with it for a while, until it tells you what it wants to be!!!
I'm sorry to hear you are having breathing problems - prayers coming your way that your health improves and that you are back on track real soon!!!
